Oxfordshire South and Vale Citizens Advice (OSAV CA) is a local charity that provides the Citizens Advice service from our 4 main locations in South Oxfordshire and Vale of the White Horse; Abingdon, Didcot, Henley and Thame. We have more than 120 skilled volunteers who are supported by small paid team. We are looking for an experienced Debt Adviser to work on this project which is funded by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). This role can be home based, although you will be required to visit one of our offices for client meetings etc.
As a MaPS Debt Case Worker, you will be experienced in working with debt clients, negotiating with creditors on their behalf on all matters including council tax arrears, rent/mortgage arrears, electricity/gas debt, credit cards, insolvency, bailiffs etc. You will be familiar with options available for clients to maximise their income.
This post requires the successful applicant to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check prior to employment. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from the process. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity. Different application procedures are adopted by individual local Citizens Advice. Contact the relevant one as outlined in the information about this role. You should not send an application form to national Citizens Advice.
All local Citizens Advice produce their own annual report, but you can find out more about the Citizens Advice network or download the latest national Citizens Advice annual report.
